Ingredient Spotlight: Chamomile

Chamomile is part of the daisy family, and has been used for ages in tea for its calming properties.

Science shows that when applied topically, chamomile can also calm inflammation and even acts as an antiseptic! It can help heal wounds and serve as a decongestant. chamomile

When used correctly, chamomile has no negative side effects!

You will often find chamomile in products designed for sensitive skin. It’s also great in exfoliants, as it can help to calm the irritating effects that can be associated with exfoliation.

There are two types of chamomile plants, so here’s how you may see it on an ingredient list:
1. Chamomile (Anthemis Nobilis) Extract
2. Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract

At home, try soaking chamomile tea bags in water. Place them over the eyest to help decrease puffiness!
Or, try soaking a tea bag in a spray bottle. After a few minutes, remove the tea bags and spritz over the skin for a calming remedy.
